SANS Training - By Style
SANS Training Events
SANS offers classes throughout the year in many major US cities as well as Europe and Asia. These training events can feature anywhere from one to over thirty classes at the same location. SANS events offer much more than just training - this is the place to meet other information security professionals, discuss new products with vendors, participate in online challenges and contests, and listen to world-class guest speakers.
SANS @Home Web-based Training
SANS @Home program delivers live instruction via the web using various Internet-based technologies. Streaming audio, instant messaging, online forums and email are all leveraged to make the student's online learning experience as fun and engaging as possible.
Online Training
When you want 'anytime, anywhere' access to SANS high quality training, choose our advanced Flash-based online delivery method, SANS OnDemand. The program is designed to provide a convenient, simple and highly effective means for information security professionals to obtain the most trusted information security training in the world. Students will receive the same intensive, immersion training that SANS is known for delivered via a Flash-based web presentation. OnDemand students will benefit from the real-world stories of SANS instructors that bring the true SANS experience right to your home or office.
Community Training Events
The Community SANS format offers the most popular SANS courses in your local community, in a small classroom setting--most courses have fewer than 25 students. The instructors are pulled from the best of our SANS Mentor program and trained by SANS top-rated instructors like Eric Cole and Ed Skoudis. The course material is delivered over a six day period, just like it is at a larger SANS event. You receive all the same content, audio files and other materials AND we provide continental breakfast and a full lunch each day to encourage networking among students and faculty.
Mentor Training
SANS Mentor program offers the flexibility of online, self-paced learning along with hands-on mentor-led interaction through sessions where students can try the exercises, discuss the material, ask and answer questions, and help each other learn and prepare for certification. Mentors are people who have earned honors on both the practical and multiple choice components of certification. If one of your employees has met this bar, he or she can begin leading a mentored program. By using in-house mentors, you enable the teachers and students to discuss sensitive issues that they might not feel comfortable discussing with outsiders.
Onsite Classes
SANS OnSite program provides the opportunity for our training to be focused on the needs of your organization while offering the convenience of having your staff in close proximity. These programs work best for 25 or more people and provide the same level of instruction for a fraction of what it would cost you to send all of those employees to a live training event!
Self Study
For the motivated student who enjoys working independently we offer the Self Study program. Students receive SANS course books (and CDs when applicable) and online access to MP3 files of SANS world-class instructors teaching the material. Study texts and listen to the lectures at your own convenience and pace! In addition, students who register for GIAC Certification will receive TWO free GIAC Practice Tests for each GIAC Exam the student would need to pass to achieve GIAC Certification! The GIAC Practice Tests allow you to have an understanding of what to expect on the GIAC examination. Since many students have been out of school for a long time, practicing test taking skills can improve your chances for passing the GIAC exams.
