The SANS ICS Security team is pleased to announce Zach Tudor as this year's recipient of the SANS Institute’s SANS Michael J. Assante ICS Security Award. Mr. Zachary (Zach) Tudor is the associate laboratory director of Idaho National Laboratory’s National and Homeland Security Science and Technology directorate. In his role, Zach is responsible for leading INL’s Nuclear Nonproliferation, Cyber Research and Development, Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience, Communications Research, and Defense Systems missions.

A retired U.S. Navy submarine electronics officer, Zach has held senior leadership roles at SRI International, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Reconnaissance Office, and with several private defense contractors. He is a member of Virginia’s Commonwealth Cyber Initiative advisory board, a member of the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, the former vice chair of the Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection at George Washington University and the former chair of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium’s board of directors.

Across his many roles throughout his career, Zach has shaped and continues to shape the careers of many in the ICS community.
