Profile
Elizabeth A. Carmenate has been a pivotal figure in the security awareness space for the past two years. A proud alumna of the University of Florida, Elizabeth graduated two years ago with both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Marketing & Business Communications. Despite initial hesitations and feelings of imposter syndrome when she entered the security awareness field straight out of college, Elizabeth quickly found that her unique background enabled her to create innovative and inclusive strategies for her program. Passionate about people and building meaningful relationships, Elizabeth has been instrumental in transforming her company's efforts into a comprehensive human risk management program. Currently leading the phishing program at Royal Caribbean, she has also hosted over hundreds of escape room training sessions designed to be intentional and grounded in human behavior research and the scientific approach to human psychology. Elizabeth is a strong advocate for cross-collaboration within the business, leveraging diverse data to craft more effective initiatives. One of her noteworthy contributions includes starting a cyber buddy program that pairs employees with cybersecurity experts, fostering a supportive learning environment. As she transitions into further developing the human risk management program, Elizabeth will focus on change management and communications, aiming to enhance the program alongside her colleagues. Her marketing background has proven invaluable, particularly in pitching and branding program ideas to leadership and employees. For Elizabeth, marketing is synonymous with customer relationship management, and she is dedicated to fostering positive and empowering relationships with her colleagues and the broader employee community.
