Eva van der Valk

Eva is a well rounded security professional with a wide range of experience in different fields of IT Security, such as Security Consultancy, Security Operations, web application and penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, security incident handling and security auditing. She is a Security Incident Manager at Alliander N.V. and deals with all aspects of security there.

Profile

Coming from a (UNIX) system administration and networking background, security was always a big consideration for Eva when dealing with internet facing web servers and applications. As such, information security was a natural progression, and she became Senior Pen Tester and Information Security Professional for Canon Europa N.V. ultimately becoming their  Manager Security & Compliancy Operations. 

Eva holds numerous certifications including OSCP, GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, GXPN, GEVA, GMON, GWAPT and CISSP, and has been an @Night speaker. She's also been involved in the program commitee of the 2019 FIRST Cyber Threat Intelligence Symposium London and as a member of the advisory board for the 2019 SANS Purple Team Summit.

In her spare time, Eva enjoys spending time with her dog or horse, traveling to beautiful countries for scuba diving and playing CTF's with the amazing group of friends she's met through playing NetWars. The team came in second place at the Tournament of Champions in both Europe and the US in 2019.
