Manal Al Balushi

Manal Al Balushi is a specialist in Risk and Compliance at Petroleum Development Oman. Her responsibilities include managing risk and compliance, as well as raising cybersecurity awareness for both IT and OT security. With over six years of experience, Manal has worked in various domains such as network security, risk management, audit and assurance, and cloud security, etc.

Manal completed her bachelor's degree in IT Networking at the Higher College of Technology before pursuing a master's degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Birmingham. To enhance her expertise in cybersecurity, she has taken various courses and obtained certifications such as CCNA and CRISC. She has also completed the SANS ICS Cybersecurity in Depth training and earned the Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional (GICSP) certification.

Recognized for her achievements, Manal won the Woman in Cybersecurity Middle East and North Africa "Woman in Cybersecurity Rising Star" award in 2022 & Young Professional Award 2023.

She has actively participated in competitions and netwars, winning the title of best female performer and securing second place among participants from Oman in the Cisco Netrider Competition.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Manal enjoys contributing to various groups and volunteering. She is an active member of the Woman in Cybersecurity Middle East and North Africa community and volunteers with the Oman Cancer Association.
