Max leads mission programs and partnerships at SANS Institute. In this role, he manages strategic partnerships for SANS and oversees an organization focused on (1) growing the global cybersecurity talent pipeline, and (2) fostering a stronger cyber workforce through partnerships that expand reskilling and upskilling efforts. 

Under his leadership, SANS has granted more than 4,750 scholarships to individuals with high aptitude through public and private programs globally. In these academies and related programs, participants gain in-demand skills and achieve industry certifications on their pathway to cybersecurity jobs. Max led Government-funded cybersecurity reskilling programs in Maryland, Virginia, nationwide across the U.S., and in Canada. He managed the first pilot program of the U.S. Government’s Federal Cyber Reskilling Academy (FCRA). He’s also overseen upskilling and youth education programs in partnership with nonprofits and supported by Fortune 500 companies such as Google, Cisco, AWS, and Bloomberg.

He joined SANS in 2015. Previously, he served as Vice President at Cambridge Global Advisors (CGA), a national security advisory firm. At CGA, he supported the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as well as cybersecurity programs for organizations such as Northrop Grumman, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Digital Guardian, among others.
