Rob is a seasoned IT security practitioner, having served a variety of roles throughout his 25+ years in the industry. He has held roles as an active duty US Marine, a government civilian, a defense contractor, an IT consultant, a red team member, an incident responder, a sales engineer, and most recently, the director of public sector sales engineering for ExtraHop. His background began in local area networking and has evolved over the years to encompass behavioral analytics, incident response and recovery, digital forensics, network traffic analysis (NTA), and of course network detection and response (NDR).
Rob’s multifaceted background and experiences, combined with his direct support for the public sector over the last 20 years, brings a unique and informed perspective to discussions surrounding IT security and the technologies that enable organizations to stay in control of their cyber risk postures.
Rob holds a number of security related certifications to include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and EC Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA).
