SANS Cyber Reskilling Program Bahrain

The Cyber Reskilling Program is an intensive 8-week initiative, consisting of three high quality training courses, two associated exams, soft skills development sessions and employer engagements, designed to prepare individuals to reskill into the cyber security sector.

Retrain for a Career in Cybersecurity

Due to the high demand for training and the increasing demand for new cybersecurity talent, SANS, in partnership with Tamkeen, are pleased to announce the return of the Cyber Reskilling Program Bahrain. The program aims to identify and rapidly re-skill individuals for roles in cybersecurity in just eight weeks.

Launching on Sunday, 17th September, students will join the program and undertake three SANS training courses. In addition, they will receive employment support and industry guidance to ensure they are immediately deployable within the cybersecurity workforce. Successful graduates will complete the programme with two GIAC certifications – the highly regarded GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) and GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certifications.

We are looking for individuals from the following groups who are seeking to start a career in cybersecurity, whether they are currently employed in non-cyber roles or unemployed:

  • Jobseekers or unemployed individuals who are new to cybersecurity
  • Individuals considering starting their own business, or wanting to improve their current skillsets
  • Those currently employed in an IT role, who wish to specialise, change or transfer to cybersecurity
  • Recent graduates who wish to commence their professional career

92% of participants have either been offered cybersecurity employment in new roles, transitioned into a cybersecurity role with their existing employer, or have been submitted for cybersecurity positions and await notification of the outcomes.

Employers who supported the first version of the program by attending the Careers Event and/or by hiring Cyber Reskilling Program graduates include Al Baraka Bank, Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Banagas, Batelco, BDF, Benefit, BEYON Cyber, Central Bank of Bahrain, CTM360, HSBC, Ministry of Defense Bahrain, National Cyber.

SANS Retraining Programs are “like the Harvard Business School for cyber – you know the graduates are going in based on their aptitude, and will be going through the best training possible.” - Jim Fox, Head of Cyber Development at e2e

What to expect from the SANS Cyber Reskilling Program Bahrain

The Cyber Reskilling Program Bahrain aims to meet the widening demand for skilled cybersecurity practitioners. Through intensive training, the program creates GIAC certified professionals, ready to be deployed into junior cybersecurity roles in just eight weeks.

The Cyber Reskilling Program Bahrain is designed to prepare successful applicants for security roles by introducing them to key cybersecurity principles and techniques across three SANS courses. Our students are taught using material from SANS’ training courses, through real-life, practical simulations and team exercises. The program culminates in two industry-recognised Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) certifications, regarded as highly valuable for any practitioner entering the field of cybersecurity.

The training program is fully supported by Tamkeen and offered at no cost to candidates. The program commences on Sunday, 17th September 2023 and ends on Thursday, 9th November 2023.

Throughout the training program, students will receive support to aid in their transition into employment. Employers will also engage with the students during training and are invited to showcase their organisation and active vacancies at the Careers Fair.
